Goldmine Loop Trail

A great family hike that will take you from your starting point on the famous Road to Nowhere down to edge of Fontana Lake and through the valleys and ridge-lines of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There is a lot of history along this trail with old home-sites and remnants of days gone by scattered along the way. Then wrap up the hike by walking through the historic Road to Nowhere tunnel. This is a moderate trail and is a great step up form the trails along the Deep Creek Waterfall loop! Come out and enjoy this great day hike with your family!
Lonesome Pine Overlook
$100 For First 2 People – $20 Each Additional Person – Advanced/Challenging
Lonesome Pine Overlook is one of the best views of Bryson City from the Noland Divide Trail. The hike is a strenuous day adventure. You should plan for 3-3.5 hours. It is one of our favorite hikes and is roughly a 6.4 mile round trip hike. The elevation gain is just over 2800 ft. The trail is well maintained and keeps a pretty continuous slope. There is a water source on the trail 1.5-2 miles in but don’t rely on it. Carry plenty of water and filter any water you get out of the branch. Animals and Bicycles are not permitted on the trail. This is true for many areas in the Great Smoky Mountains so make sure you check the signs before you hike.
Noland Divide – From The Top
$250 For First 2 People – $50 Each Additional Person – Advanced/Challenging
Noland Divide is a beautiful trail that extends from the Clingmans Dome Road all the way down in to Deep Creek. This trail follow ridge-line most of the way down and provides some amazing views especially at Lonesome Pine Overlook! You should plan for 5.5-6 hours. If you are looking for a longer day hike that will provide you with a challenge and reward you with spectacular views that this is a great option. The hike is roughly a 11.6 miles long. We will descend 4,100ft in elevation along the course of the trail . This trail does not have any dependable water sources so be sure to bring plenty of water we recommend 2 liters at least, 3 liters if you want to be sure not to run out. Bringing a snack or a small lunch is also recommended to replenish during the hike down.
